Lotus are symbol of purity and beauty. 
They can be found in mainly in 3 colors - 
Pink, white and cream. 
Lotus can be grown with seeds or tuber.

In Egyptian times, 
Lotus was an important flower it their daily life starting from their religion to their schools.
It is also largely finds its significance in Hinduism and Buddhism.
Because of its property of reopening every morning and closing in night,
Lotus is also referred as symbol of Sun.

Beauty of Lotus is also inspirations to many artists. 
It has found a place in many paintings and architecture.

Lotus roots are rich with nutrients and found place in many Asian dishes.

Lotus are often confused with Lily due to their similar look and shape. Lilies are plants of colder weather and found most between tropical zone 4 to 11, While lotus are plants of warm weather. They can not survive colder weather unless special care. They usually found in tropical zone 9 and above.

Lilies can be found in number of colors which surpasses that of lotus.

Lilies usually grows in 2 to 5 feet deep water and can surface up to maximum a foot. Lotus can grows up to in 12 feet deep water and can surge above water up to 2 feet.
